Serena Williams is rumored to be pregnant, two days after appearing disoriented in a first-round double match with sister Venus. The No.1 seed, who also lost in the singles to Alize Cornet of France, later said in a statement that she had a bug and it “just got the best of me.”

But tabloids are claiming it is much more than a bug. German tabloid Bild claimed on Thursday that the 32-year-old is pregnant, and the symptoms that come with pregnancy caused her to become woozy during the match. “In London, word is that Serena was impregnated by her coach,” an insider says.

Nine-time Wimbledon champion Martina Navratilova also believes that Williams’ behavior was the result of more than just a bug. “I find it distressing. I think virus, whatever they’re saying it was, I don’t think that was it. I think it’s clear that’s not the case. I don’t know what it is, but I hope Serena will be OK,” she told USA Today on Wednesday.

Williams is currently dating her French coach, Patrick Mouratoglou. Speculation that the two were an item first began last September, after Williams was spotted in Paris with Mouratoglou with their hands in each other's pockets and embracing as they walked down the streets. The pair have since been seen together, mainly in Paris, where Williams also has a second home.

When asked about her dropping out of the doubles match due to a “bug,” Mouratoglou said in a text message he had not seen Serena in two days. "But before the match she was fine."
