Seth Meyers will be hosting the Golden Globe Awards next year.

HFPA president, Meher Tatna, announced Meyers’ involvement in the awards show via a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is excited to have Seth Meyers host the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards.”

“With his natural comedic wit and innate ability to charm audiences, Seth will help us carry on the celebratory tradition of recognizing the best in television and film at the Party of the Year,” Tatna added.

The announcement was also made via the official Golden Globe Awards Twitter account on Thursday, Nov. 23. A photo of Meyers was uploaded alongside the details for the upcoming show.

Meyers has not yet released a statement regarding his new hosting gig, but the “Late Night” host his messages of gratitude on Thanksgiving Day. On his Twitter account, Meyers said that he’s thankful for the team that puts together “A Closer Look” every day.

A photo of Meyers’ son, Ashe, dressed as a turkey, was posted on “Late Night With Seth Meyers’” official Twitter account. Meyers retweeted the adorable snap of his 1-year-old.

Meanwhile, hosting next year’s Golden Globe Awards wouldn’t be the first time for Meyers to host a live ceremony. In 2010 and 2011, he hosted the ESPY Awards, and he also headlined the 2014 Primetime Emmys.

Last year, the event was hosted by “Tonight Show” front man, Jimmy Fallon. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey also co-hosted the Golden Globe Awards from 2013 to 2015. Fey is currently undergoing her second round of chemotherapy after she was diagnosed with breast cancer two months ago.

According to USA Today, it’s possible that Meyers’ Golden Globe Awards spiel will tackle political issues since he’s been doing this on his “Late Night” show.

The nominations for the 75th Golden Globe Awards will be unveiled on Dec. 11. The event will be broadcasted live on NBC on Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. EST.
