Sleepy Hollow
Henry Parrish and Grace Dixon return in “Sleepy Hollow” Season 4, episode 4. Watch it on Friday, Jan. 27 at 9 p.m. EST on Fox. Tina Rowden/Fox

Family reunions are a tricky thing in “Sleepy Hollow.” Ichabod Crane’s (Tom Mison) family, in particular, has always been complicated. His wife Katrina (Katia Winter) was a witch and his son, Henry Parish (John Noble) was a witch, sin-eater and the Horseman of War. Christened Jeremy, Henry was eventually killed by Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie).

Season 4, episode 4 will see the return of Henry. Remember at the end of episode 3 Ichabod stepped on some dark liquid on J Street and bought it with him to his apartment? The final scene showed an alien-like creature latching on to the Revolutionary War hero’s face. What is it?

According to the official synopsis of the upcoming episode, titled “The People Vs. Ichabod Crane,” the creature makes its victims live out their most personal and haunting memories. Worse still, the black substance unleashed a monster in Washington, D.C.

Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) and Diana (Janina Gavankar) scramble to find the monster’s weakness in order to save Ichabod.

The promo of “Sleepy Hollow” Season 4, episode 4 shows Ichabod waking up to a courthouse in chains. He is on trial for something and guess who prosecutor is? His deceased son Henry Parrish. “It can’t be,” the professor says when he sees his son. Henry greets him, “Hello father.”

The preview also shows Jenny and Diana battling a large demon in a cave. They better hurry up because a witness is going to be hanged soon.

Henry won’t be the only familiar face popping up in “Sleepy Hollow.” Grace Dixon (Onira Tares), Abbie and Jenny’s ancestor, will appear in the new episode of the Fox series.

Worryingly, the rebooted Season 4 is steadily declining in ratings. The Season 4 premiere drew an audience of 2.2 million and a 0.6 demo ratings, according to TVLine. Episode 2 drew 2.1 million and a 0.6 rating, according to another TVLine report. Sadly, “Sleepy Hollow” Season 4, episode 3 managed to rustle up only 1.92 million viewers and a 0.5 rating. This is the lowest rating of the show till date.
