Sofia Vergara may be caught in the midst of a nasty legal battle with ex-fiancé Nick Loeb, but that isn’t stopping the actress and her beau Joe Manganiello from planning a family of their own. Though nothing is set in stone at the moment, it seems we may be seeing a baby from these two sooner rather than later.

During a recent interview with Redbook magazine, Vergara got candid about her desire to have children with Manganiello. The 42-year-old actress revealed that she definitely wants the couple to have a baby together and that, this time around, she would like to forego getting a surrogate and take the natural route. She also told the publication that she wants to get on it as soon as possible due to the age gap between her and her beau.

“Joe is younger than me. He’s 38. He’s never had kids,” she said. “How am I going to say no? I tell him if we’re going to do this, we have to do it, like, now, because I don’t want to be 50 with a baby.”

The “Modern Family” star has one child, a 22-year-old named Manolo Gonzalez-Ripoll Vergara, from a previous marriage. After that marriage ended Vergara met Loeb. The two were engaged to be married in 2012 and planned to start a family together. They had several embryos frozen before calling off their relationship in 2014.

Loeb now wants to harvest the embryos and raise the children on his own. He is suing Vergara, whom he claims is trying to destroy them. She has since spoken out about the situation, telling Howard Stern on his Sirius XM radio show that she feels what her ex is trying to do is “so selfish.”
