Sony said on Monday its new handheld game device would be called PlayStation Vita. The company added that it would partner with AT&T as exclusive carrier for the 3G version of the device in the United States.

The Japanese electronics giant held a star-studded presentation at a Los Angeles sports arena on the eve of the E3 games show, hoping to draw a line under the series of hacking incidents that forced it to shut down its PlayStation video games network for almost a month.
