Recently, Sony released its Xperia Z4 smartphone in Japan. Now, the company has released Sony Xperia Z3+, the international variant of the Z4.

The highlight of the device is not just waterproofing but also two-day battery life. The inclusion of Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology has been a boon for current-generation smartphones -- for sustaining the battery charge to quickly charging the handset. According to reports, this Quick Charge technology is now part of the Xperia Z3+.

The official UCH10 charger can provide 5.5 hours of battery charge from just 10 minutes of charging the Sony Xperia Z3+. If a user charges the Z3+ for 45 minutes, the handset can reportedly last for a whole day, writes Phone Arena.

But then, the new UCH10 charger will work with only the single SIM variant of the Xperia Z3+. Therefore, the sibling “Sony Xperia Z3+ Dual edition” does not come with this capability. Also, Phone Arena says, except for the charger, other Xperia Z3+ Dual specifications and features are same as the original single SIM Xperia Z3+ handset.

Readers should note that Sony has not confirmed whether the UCH10 charger will be part of the Xperia Z3+ mobile package. Alternatively, it could also be sold separately as an accessory. Furthermore, the charger will be sold in black and white hues and it is reportedly compatible with the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact as well.

Even though, the housed battery capacity is not phenomenal (only 2,900 mAh), Sony says the Xperia Z3+ can continuously run for up to two days. Phone Arena, on the other hand, says this claim of Sony could be true with a moderate-to-heavy phone usage. However, when it comes to the real-world usage, the phone should only be able to cross the one-day limit.

Apart from the difference in the capability of the battery unit, the display and the main camera are a replica of the 2014 flagship Xperia Z3, says Phone Arena. However, the Xperia Z3+ is relatively thinner when compared to the predecessor. Under the hood, the Xperia Z3+ reportedly comes powered by an octa-core processor and Adreno 430 governs the graphics department. Lastly, the device is backed by a good 3 GB of RAM unit.
