Sony has been very busy with the new “Xperia X” lineup, which replaces the well-known “Xperia Z” series. The company has introduced Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia X Performance and the very recent Xperia XA Ultra so far. In the meantime, the predecessor “Sony Xperia Z5” is now available for purchase at a significantly discounted price for a limited period of time.

The 32GB version of the Sony Xperia Z5 can now be purchased for $499 on Amazon. This device used to retail at $599.99 until recently. With this deal, buyers can save $100.99.

It is worth noting that this discounted GSM unlocked model comes with U.S. manufacturer warranty. Apart from the standard connectivity options, this device also supports 4G LTE.

Interested buyers can choose from three different color choices namely Black, White and Gold. Upon ordering the device, buyers can avail free shipping service from Amazon.

As far as the key specifications go, the Sony Xperia Z5 features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display, along with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution. This handset is IP 68 certified for dust and water resistance.

Under the hood, an octa-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 810) processor powers the phone and it is backed by 3 GB of RAM. On the software front, Android 5.1 Lollipop OS runs the Xperia Z5 out of the box. However, it is upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Furthermore, the Sony Xperia Z5 sports a phenomenal 23-megapixel primary shooter with LED flash and a 5.1-megapixel snapper mounted at the front for selfies and video chats. Apart from the 32GB native storage space, this device comes with a microSD slot to facilitate expansion.

Battery-wise, Sony has housed a non-removable Li-Ion 2,900 mAh cell in the handset. This battery unit will apparently be able to offer up to 17 hours of 3G talk time and up to 540 hours of 3G stand-by time. The Sony Xperia Z5 supports rapid charging with the help of Quick Charge 2.0 technology.
