After receiving negative backlash for what fans felt like was neglect towards his family, Soulja Boy made the decision to call out his mother and brother. On Monday, the 26-year-old used his Twitter account as an outlet of expression after his sibling claimed Soulja Boy failed to financially support his mother, Lisa Way, who is allegedly on welfare.

“She a crackhead and he live with his dad he not in the hood they looking for a come up,” Soulja Boy wrote about his family members in a now-deleted tweet.

The tweet comes following the release of a diss song called “Overdue” by the rapper’s brother John Way. In the song, Way called Soulja Boy out for being a liar and said that their mother is on welfare, even though her son is financially successful.

Way can also be seen in a video with his mother insisting that he is telling the truth on the diss track and then shares the screen with her. During her camera time, Lisa Way revealed that the two were at her house which is located “in the middle of the got damn hood.”

Soulja Boy explained that, although he has a mansion and millions of dollars in the bank, he is not required to share his wealth with anyone. The rapper went on to allude that he was upset because his mother was careless with the money he has given her previously.

“If you didn’t appreciate me when I was helping u don’t get mad when I stop and don’t make up Lies like u not the one that spent all ur cash,” the rapper tweeted (the tweet has since been deleted).

Offering to bring his fans some clarity after all of the back and forth between him and his family, Soulja Boy tweeted that he has a new interview coming soon that will clear up the fake stories.
