A spring snow storm will affect the mountain ranges of southeast Wyoming through noon today, according to the National Weather Service.

The agency said a pacific low pressure system will bring springtime snow to the mountains through noon today, while snow showers will continue this afternoon. However, coverage and intensity will be decreased as the day progresses.

Snow showers will be heaviest this morning and will eventually mix with rain by late morning, with total snow accumulations would be within 4 to 8 inches.

The agency also warned that there will be easterly winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour (mph) with visibilities dropping to a half mile or less in the heavier snow showers.

The winter weather advisory is now in effect until noon mountain time today.
