A Florida man was charged with indecent exposure and resisting officers after he was allegedly seen walking around his neighborhood wearing only a poncho and offered to show his penis to responding sheriff’s deputies.

Stephen Van Alphen, 46, of North Fort Myers, Fla., was arrested after the Friday incident while wearing what he called his “Clint Eastwood poncho” and nothing else.

"I don't like the fact that he's drinking and walking in the neighborhood with no clothes on. My 6-year-old has seen him in the window," neighbor Cheryl Biggs told WBBH on Monday.

Van Alphen is no stranger to local authorities. Sheriff’s deputies who arrived on the scene of Friday’s incident remembered Van Alphen from a similar situation with him earlier this month when he said he accidentally exposed himself to a 6-year-old child while performing what he called his “ninja moves.”

Van Alphen then allegedly offered to show his penis to the responding sheriff’s deputies, telling them, “It is too small for anyone to see it anyway.”

WBBH spoke to Van Alphen, who admitted he drank heavily but said he’s been sober for six days. He claims he’s harmless to children.

“It sounds crazy and I don’t belong in the asylum. I was playing Cowboys and Indians in the house all by myself,” Van Alphen said. “I was the naked Redskin and the ponchoed cowboy at the same time.”

But his neighbors want Van Alphen to leave. He remains in his North Fort Myers home after being released from the Lee County Jail after posting bond.

“Messing with all these kids – he’s sitting here, walking around with all the children. I just think he needs to be out of the neighborhood,” one neighbor told WBBH.
