Anonymous Group LulzFinancial Hacks Westboro Baptist Church
LulzFinancial, an off-shoot of "hacktivist" group Anonymous, went after Westboro Baptist Church this week for threatening to picket the funeral of Charlie and Braden Powell, the two boys murdered by their father Josh Powell earlier this week. Hackers shut down the church's two main sites and leaked contact information on all its members, including phone numbers and home addresses. Reuters

Steve Jobs only passed away Wednesday, but the controversial Westboro Baptist Church has already settled on picketing his funeral, unabashedly announcing the news on the Web via an Apple (AAPL) product itself.

Westboro will picket his funeral. He had a huge platform; gave God no glory and taught sin, Margie Phelps, daughter of the church's founder Fred Phelps, posted on Twitter on Thursday. The tweet was followed by a note indicating it was uploaded via Twitter for iPhone indicating that despite her proclamations, Phelps herself is a Mac user.

No peace for man who served self, not God, she wrote in another tweet with the hashtag, #hellgreetedhim. Westboro must picket.

The independent evangelical Christian church is known for picketing the funerals of U.S. soldiers, as well as those of public figures who had homosexual affiliations. The group has also protested the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and has targeted the American Jewish community on several occasions.

When Twitter users pointed out Phelps' hypocrisy by celebrating Jobs' death with the help of a product he created, Phelps was also nonchalant.

Rebels mad cuz I used iPhone to tell you Steve Jobs is in hell. God created iPhone for that purpose! : ) she wrote.

As of now, arrangements for Jobs' funeral have not been announced.
