Mehcad Brooks as the Guardian
“Supergirl” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that Kara (Melissa Benoist) is going to be furious when she finally finds out that James (Mehcad Brooks) is the Guardian. The CW

Kara (Melissa Benoist) is going to be furious when she discovers that James (Mehcad Brooks) and Winn (Jeremy Jordan) are moonlighting as vigilantes, and that’s the very reason the duo is looking for the right time to reveal their Guardian secret to her.

“I think that James was right to not tell her [because] he pretty accurately guessed her reaction to it,” “Supergirl” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

While Kreisberg confirmed that the Girl of Steel’s reaction is “explosive,” the exec producer said that it’s definitely “out of concern and love.” She loves James and Winn and when she does find out, she’s worried for her friends’ safety.

In the extended trailer for Season 2, episode 9, James says that he’s more himself as Guardian than he has ever felt as James Olson. Perhaps when Kara hears these words from him, she will understand why Superman’s (Tyler Hoechlin) best friend decided to become a vigilante.

James and Winn tried to reveal their secret to Kara over the Thanksgiving meal in her apartment in Season 2, episode 8. Their plans, however, were foiled when a breach suddenly appeared right in front of them.

So far, Alex (Chyler Leigh) is the only one who knows about James and Winn’s vigilante gig, and it seems that Kara is going to be the last one to discover the secret. “It’s a little bit like when Chandler and Monica started dating [on ‘Friends’], every episode somebody else found out and they had a surprising reaction,” Kreisberg teased to Entertainment Weekly last November of how James and Winn’s secret will be slowly revealed to everyone. “Not everybody is going to find out at once. Some people are going to be supportive; who’s supportive is going to be surprising. Some people are going to be incredibly unsupportive thinking James and Winn have lost their minds; their identities will be interesting.”

“Supergirl’s” winter premiere (Season 2, episode 9), titled “Supergirl Lives” airs on Monday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW. Check out the extended trailer for the episode below:
