On Aug. 21, Bethenny Frankel shared a post on Instagram informing fans of her decision to leave “The Real Housewives Of New York City.” However, “Real Housewife of Orange County” star Tamra Judge accused the 48-year-old star of lying about why she left the reality series.

Although Bethenny’s announcement was accepted by fans, who praised her for wanting to escape the drama, Tamra slammed the star’s excuse for exiting the show.

“I hate when a housewife either gets fired or says she quits… When they go on record [and] say, ‘I just need to spend time with my kids,’” the 51-year-old star told E! News’ “Daily Pop.”

Tamra seemed to believe Bethenny was lying about why she exited the show since their filming scheduling wasn’t demanding. “[I’m] just like, ‘Really? Because you weren’t spending time because we work three hours a day?’”

One “Daily Pop” host thought Bethenny’s excuse was a way to call out other cast members, who may not have as many responsibilities. However, another anchor claimed Bethenny’s announcement was a graceful way to say goodbye to fans without offending the network that helped launch her television career.

In a statement to Us Weekly last month, Bethenny revealed her plans to spend more time with her daughter Bryn, 9, and her plans to help empower women. “I have decided to leave the Housewives franchise to explore my next chapter,” she told the outlet.

“It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women. With the changes in modern culture, I want to highlight the strength, confidence and unstoppable power that women have.”

While it is unclear when Bethenny plans on sharing more information about her projects, she’s currently working with her BStrong charity to aid victims of natural disasters.
