TBS axed the third season of "Lopez Tonight" because it struggled to gain viewers in the competitive field of late-night talk shows, according to the Hollywood Reporter. In November, Lopez was bumped back an hour to a midnight slot to accommodate Conan O'Brien's "Conan" after the comedian's exit from NBC.

"Lopez Tonight" is hosted by George Lopez, the first Latino-American to host a late-night talk show on an English-language network in the United States.

The program airs immediately after the "Conan" show, from Monday through Thursday, and features high-energy audience interaction.

Thursday's installment will be the end of "Lopez Tonight", according to Telepictures Prods.

George Lopez is mostly known for starring in his self-produced, self-named ABC sitcom. His stand-up comedy examines race and ethnic relations and Mexican-American culture.
