“Teen Mom 2” star Kailyn Lowry stands by her decision to get plastic surgery. The MTV reality star struggles with eating disorders and low-self esteem, she explained in her book, “Hustle & Heart,” which is due to hit bookstands at the end of the this month.

“This is rarely something you ever completely get over,” Lowry wrote about the negative feelings toward her figure. “It's nice to think that the ultimate goal would be to feel totally at peace with my body, whatever it looks like. But in reality, that's something that has to be maintained continuously.”

Even though some criticized her for going under the knife, Lowry explained that wasn’t the case. She joined Crossfit and ate healthy to get in shape, but after sticking to the diet and workout regime for more than a year, she wasn’t satisfied with the way she looked. “It was clear there was only so much I could do to change the shape of my body,” she said.

Lowry, 24, instilled the help of Bay Harbor surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer, who is best known as Dr. Miami. The celebrity surgeon filmed the operation on Snapchat, like he does with most of his surgeries. She got a Brazilian butt lift, liposuction and tummy tuck in January 2016.

“I care how I look. I knew that being satisfied with my outer appearance would give me the confidence I needed to face the world head on. For me, the things that I wanted to change about my body were nagging little distractions from the deeper missions I wanted to work on,” she wrote. “My decision to get plastic surgery came down to one simple thing: I'm human.”

Lowry has also got lip injections from Dr. Susan Evans of Beverly Hills in May.

Her figure isn’t the only thing Lowry is worried about. The “Teen Mom 2” star tweeted cryptic messages about hear flaws being used against her. “When a person knows your weaknesses and never uses them against you, it speaks volumes,” she wrote to her 1.18 million followers Wednesday. “When someone uses your weaknesses against you, it proves what kind of person THEY are.”

Season 8 of “Teen Mom 2” is currently filming. “Hustle & Heart” will be available for purchase Nov. 22.
