Jane’s suspicion that Pete was the one who took Lake puts her in a dangerous situation in this week’s episode of “Ten Days in the Valley.”

According to the synopsis for Season 1, episode 4 of the ABC series, Jane’s (Kyra Sedgwick) belief that Pete (Kick Gury) is responsible for Lake’s (Abigail Pniowsky) disappearance leads her down a dark path, putting both of them in danger.

In the trailer for the episode, Jane breaks into Pete’s house to seemingly look for evidence that would prove that he’s the one who took their daughter away. But Pete catches her and a confrontation takes place.

“Unbelievable! You break into my house and accuse me of kidnapping my own daughter? You’re sick, Jane,” Pete tells his ex.

But when the tension between the two subsides, Pete admits to Jane that the kidnapper probably took Lake because of his debt. Pete’s theory is soon confirmed by Sheldon (Nelson Lee), who suddenly shows up in Pete’s house.

“You got that right,” says Sheldon, surprising the exes in the kitchen.

When Jane asks where her daughter is, Sheldon replies with a question he’s more concerned about: “Where’s my money?”

For those who can’t remember, Sheldon is the drug supplier who launders his drug money through a taco truck. Jane’s drug dealer PJ (Mark L. Young) gets his supplies from Sheldon. Sheldon first appeared in the series premiere, but it was only until Season 1, episode 2 that viewers got to see his first meeting with Jane.

At the end of Season 1, episode 3, it was revealed that Jane’s assistant and Pete’s girlfriend, Casey (Emily Kinney), is involved in Lake’s disappearance. In the final moments of the installment, Casey told Lake’s caretaker Lynn (Gage Golightly) that the kidnapping will be over soon. “Tomorrow we end it,” Casey told Lynn, who appeared to be very anxious of her job.

While Casey and Sheldon are confirmed to have a hand in Lake’s disappearance, the relationship between the two remains unclear.

Elsewhere in the next episode, Detective Bird (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) digs further into Lake’s disappearance and begins to unravel Jane’s lies.

In the trailer, Bird is seen having a conversation with his fellow police detective Gus (Francois Battiste), who serves as Jane’s confidante and secret source for her cable cop show.

“That kid is her center of gravity,” Gus says of Jane’s daughter Lake. “You take that away, and she’ll spin apart.”
