A boys basketball tournament at a Benson, Minnesota, high school was canceled Friday night after terrorist threats were made against the school, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The unidentified suspect made a direct threat against Benson High School over the phone at 6:55 p.m. CDT. The Benson Police Department detailed the incident in a Facebook post.

According to the Pioneer Press report, the phone call was traced to the Fargo-Moorhead area on the border between Minnesota and North Dakota. The suspect has been apprehended and there is “no further threat” to the public, via the Benson Police Department’s Facebook post.

The Case IH Boys Basketball Tournament was originally scheduled for Friday evening at Benson High School, a small school of around 200 students from grades seven to 12. Per the Pioneer Press, it has been rescheduled to Saturday. No terroristic action was actually carried out and the tournament should be able to carry on without much trouble.

More information about the threats and, possibly, their motive will be released later.
