UPDATE 12:14 p.m. EST: There's still no motive in the stabbings at Good Shepherd, but Steve Altmiller, CEO of the hospital, praised the police response to the incident.

"This was an isolated incident. It was diligently handled by the Longview Police Department and the Good Shepherd Response Team," he told KLTV.

UPDATE 11:21 a.m. EST: KLTV is reporting that the slain employee was a nurse at Good Shepherd Medical Center.

A stabbing at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Texas has left one employee dead, another in critical condition and three hospital visitors injured on Tuesday morning.

Police responded to the stabbing at the Longview, Texas, hospital around 7:07 a.m. local time, according to Longview television station KLTV. The Good Shepherd stabbing took place in the hospital’s ambulatory surgery center.

A suspect, only identified as a male, is in custody, the Longview News-Journal reported.

A news conference on the Good Shepherd stabbing is scheduled for 4 p.m. local time, according to KLTV.
