Justin Timberlake publicly denied calling his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears “just some b----“ at a pre-Super Bowl concert after receiving a backlash on the Internet.

The “Suit & Tie” singer allegedly made the offensive comment while performing onstage Saturday night in New Orleans just before the Super Bowl. According to Hollywood Life, Justin was talking to the crowd in between songs when he said, ''Sometimes in life, you think you found the one. But then one day you find out that she is just some b----.”

The 32-year-old former ‘NSyncer then launched into his famous breakup song “Cry Me A River,” which he was rumored to have penned after Spears allegedly cheated on him with her choreographer Wade Robson. The celebrity-attended concert was held in benefit for the Shriners Hospital for Children, and was Timberlake’s first concert in roughly five years.

Although he is now happily married to actress Jessica Biel, tabloids immediately began speculating after the incident that he was still harboring a grudge from his messy split with Spears in 2002.

On Sunday, Timberlake decided to set the record straight, writing in a message to his Twitter followers that the story was not true, and that he would never insult someone like that. "Ok. I see you. Wouldn't disrespect ANYONE personally. Ever. #Relax #ItsBritneyBitch I do love that saying though*with accent* #Respect,” he tweeted.

However, Justin did talk about his relationship with Spears in a 2011 interview with Vanity Fair, saying that although they were no longer in touch, he wished the best for her.

"I wish her the best -- that goes without saying. We haven't spoken in nine or ten years," he saidn’sy. "We were two birds of the same feather - small-town kids, doing same thing. But when you become adults, and the way you were as kids doesn't make any sense. I won't speak on her, but at least for me, I was a totally different person."

Spears recently split from her fiancé Jason Trawick and is rumored to be in talks for her own Las Vegas show, People reported.
