Tom Brady told his social media followers on Tuesday to "be humble" while standing in front of a $150,000 luxury vehicle. The New England Patriots quarterback's Instagram sponsored post for Aston Martin featured lyrics from Kendrick Lamar's "Humble," but the post appeared to imply otherwise.

Aston Martin is a luxury British sports car company. The manufacturer has utilized Brady as a celebrity endorser on other products, including its 2017 Aston Martin DB11. The British carmaker revealed that it would also sell 12 of Tom Brady Signature Edition convertibles at nearly $360,000 each. Brady's latest collaborative effort with the British carmaker's 2018 Vantage, however, fell victim of an endorsement fail.

Brady's post with the luxury vehicle was originally captioned: "'Sit down. Be humble.' New #Vantage out today." The criticism led the 40-year-old to tinker with the photo's caption by changing it to simply read "New #Vantage out today."

The Instagram post made the Twitter rounds on Tuesday after Dan Worthington, a senior manager for sports website Bleacher Report, questioned Brady's post.

"In an Instagram picture of himself standing in front of a $200K car Tom Brady tells people to sit down and be humble," Worthington wrote Tuesday on Twitter.

Worthington also pointed out that the footballer had changed the photo's caption following the scrutiny, saying, "Tom Brady edits IG caption to remove the 'sit down be humble' part after I commented."

Some Twitter users described Brady's comment as "disconnected." Brady, who is married to supermodel Gisele Bundchen, made nearly $29 million in salary and bonuses in 2016.

Instagram users were seemingly more favorable of Brady's post. Many users echoed their "love" for the quarterback or referred to him as "Goat," which is a slang abbreviation for "greatest of all time."

"Holy Tom. That. Is. One. Slick. Ride," one Instagram user commented.

One user asked, "If I buy one do you come with it?"

"You look great like always," a third user added.

Aston Martin's 2018 Vantage is expected to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which is being held from Dec. 1 to Dec. 10 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The car's price-point of $150,000 rests below the manufacturer's more pricer and larger vehicles, but it boasts a four-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that would allow it to go from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.6 seconds, among other features.

Aston Martin is only one of Brady's endorsement obligations. Brady has also endorsed pajamas for Under Armour and a plant-based food delivery service, among other deals.
