Tom Cruise has revealed that “Top Gun 2” might recreate one of the most iconic and unintentionally hilarious scenes from the original film.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his new horror blockbuster “The Mummy” on Tuesday, Cruise said that that there might be a volleyball scene in the highly anticipated “Top Gun” sequel. “[There] may be a volleyball scene,” Cruise teased. “Maybe. We’ll see.”

The original film, which was released in 1986, features a volleyball scene in which Cruise’s character, Lieutenant Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, shows off his ripped physique as he plays the sport with three of his U.S. Navy colleagues. See the scene in the video below:

A sequel to the original movie has been in the works since at least 2010. But plans for the follow-up film were stopped when the director of the first movie, Tony Scott, committed suicide in 2012. In June 2015, it was confirmed that Justin Marks was in negotiations to write the screenplay for the sequel. Last month, during the promotional tour for “The Mummy,” Cruise revealed that a sequel will start filming in 2018. Earlier this month, the actor announced that the title of the sequel is “Top Gun: Maverick.”

When asked what fans can expect from the sequel, Cruise told Access Hollywood: “Aviators are back, the need for speed. We’re going to have big, fast machines. It’s going to be a competition film like the first one, and it’s going to be in the same vein and the same tone as the first.”

The Oscar-nominated actor added that the sequel will serve as a progression for his character, Maverick.

As of late, it’s still unclear which other original cast members will return to reprise their roles. But Val Kilmer, who portrayed the role of Iceman in the original film, expressed his interest in starring in the follow-up film. In an Instagram post, Kilmer wrote that he’s still got the moves as Iceman.

“Top Gun: Maverick” will be produced by Skydance CEO David Ellison and Jerry Bruckheimer. In addition to starring in the sequel, Cruise will also serve as producer.
