Tom Ford sure knows how to sell make-up.

With the launch of his new beauty line collection exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman's on Wednesday Nov. 2, Ford sold $52,000 worth of goods in one night.

He made a personal appearance at Bergdorf's in New York for the opening of his Tom Ford Beauty Boutique. His new color collection was a sensation with the VIP crowd, reports New York Magazine.

Items were flying off the shelves, as the New York fashionista crowd got their hands on the TOM FORD creator's first full make-up collection.

Women's Wear Daily reports that one of the first products to sell out was the chocolate-brown nail polish called Bitter Bitch.

Fashion Etc.'s Lindsey Schickner spoke to Bergdorf's Senior Vice President, Fashion Office and Store Presentation, Linda Fargo about Ford's line.

It's off the charts. I mean, the industry has not seen anything like this. It's elegant, it's chic, it's sexy. I'm ready to throw out everything I have. I have a little of this and a little of that, and I'm almost going to throw everything out and stock my cabinets with Tom Ford's chic packaging and gorgeous colors, Fargo said.

It is so chic. That black and gold packaging-it's amazing and it's just the beginning, she continued. They have done everything right so far. Tom is such an elegant guy in every sense of the word, so we are over the moon to be partners.

The collection includes everything from eyeshadow, mascara, and highlighters to lipstick, nail polish, and brushes.

The rich palette is a rainbow of smooth, classic hues like cherry, mocha, and nude.

There are also some wonderfully campy names attached.

Bitter Bitch is just one of many, including Love Bruise, Naked, Savage, and Bordeaux Lust

Ford's first foray into beauty began with a line of fragrances and then lipsticks.
