Former New York Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer is not a fan of Ray Lewis. The retired wideout blasts the colorful Baltimore Ravens linebacker in a USA Today interview.

Toomer and the Giants were trounced by Lewis and the Ravens 34-7 in Super Bowl XXXV, and the former Big Blue receiver slammed the linebacker for being selfish.

"It's definitely all about him. Once a guy goes to the center of the field, goes into the victory formation on the last play of his last home game …" Toomer said before trailing off, according to USA Today. "I just don't think the Giants or any organization I've ever been a part of, even growing up, would allow somebody to single themselves out like that.”

Toomer said Lewis was “becoming a caricature” for his antics.

"If you single yourself out after you make a play, that's one thing. But to walk out on the field reminds me of the WWE, like The Rock coming out. You're becoming a caricature of yourself. It's exhausting. I don't know why somebody would want that,” said Toomer, who won a Super Bowl with the Giants in 2008.

The former University of Michigan wide receiver also knocked Lewis for the linebacker injecting God into his interviews, pointing to the fact that the linebacker pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice charges in connection with an Atlanta double murder in 2000. Lewis had originally been charged with murder, but the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence.

"If you want to say you're Mr. Religious and all of that, have a clean record. Don't say all of that stuff if you know there's stuff that might come back," Toomer told USA Today. "Those are the things that, when I look at him, I just think hypocrisy."

Toomer said despite his thoughts on Lewis as a person, he has great respect for the linebacker’s ability on the football field.

Sunday’s Super Bowl will be Lewis’ last game. The surefire Hall of Famer announced he would retire at the end of the season.

Toomer’s quotes blasting Lewis were met with mixed reactions on Twitter.
