After weeks of speculations and rumors surrounding it, iPhone 4S reached the hands of Apple's fans on Friday. The other Apple device that made rounds along with iPhone 4S was iPad 3.

Here are iPad 3's top 6 rumored specifications that took every gadget geek by surprise.

Tablet Camera: Though iPad 2 has a camera, it doesn't have a built-in flash. Now, iPad 3 is on its way and is rumored to have a flash.

Device Processor: iPad 2 arrived with a 900MHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, Apple A5 chipset and PowerVr SGX543MP2 GPU. That made the device one of the chief contenders in the tablet market war. Now, iPad 3 is expected to be introduced to millions of customers with the tablet still rumored to sport a Quad-Core Processor, most probably the A6. If this is to be believed, iPad 3 will become as powerful as any high-end desktop computer.

HDMI Capability: Previously, Apple introduced the HDMI playback in iPad 2. This, however, had caused problems as the user needed an additional digital AV adapter which was available for another $39. The upcoming iPad 3 is now rumored to rid itself of this problem with an evolved HDMI port.

Manifold Modes: Apple is rumored to follow the same strategies which Samsung and Dell have already adopted. Samsung offers tablets that come with both 10.1- and 7.7-inch displays. Dell also offered its first Streak tablet with a 5-inch display which was later upped to 7-inches. Now, rumors are rife that Apple might try selling a smaller, 7-inch version of the iPad alongside the current 9.7-inch model. Such a possibility, although, is unlikely.

4G Compatibility: It is expected that Apple will now look forward to a 4G-compatible tablet device as all the others in the market have already offered a tablet computer that supports this feature. The company's previous tablet, iPad 2, offered 3G. Hence it is expected that the Cupertino-based company will aim for a 4G-compatible tablet to counter others in the market.

Fresh Retina Display: The talks about a retina display first reared its head with the previous iPad 2, but Apple, however, had other plans. Now, iPad 3 is being massively rumored to arrive with the retina display with an improvised resolution of 2058X1536 pixels.
