Total War Rome 2
Sega has announced a Sept. 3 release for "Total War: Rome 2." http://www.totalwar.com/en_us/rome2

The minimum system requirements for "Total War: Rome 2," which is being developed by Creative Assembly, have been released. Check them out below.

OS: XP / Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8

Processor: 2GHz Intel Dual Core processor / 2.6 GHz Intel Single Core processor

Memory: 2GB RAM

Graphics: 512MB DirectX 9.0c compatible card (shader model 3, vertex texture fetch support)

DirectX®: 9.0c

Hard Drive: 35GB HD space

Screen Resolution: 1024x768

Of course, just because you meet the minimum doesn't mean you'll be able to run "Total War: Rome 2" well, so you should take these with a grain of salt. Think about it: If you could get by with a 2.6-GHz Intel processor with a single core, that would mean that you'd be able to play "Total War: Rome 2" on a PC whose CPU was made in around 2005. Does that sound like an iffy proposition? It does to us. Considering the size and scope of the battles you'll be waging in "Total War: Rome 2," you should do everything you can to be well above the minimum system requirements if you want an enjoyable playing experience.

35 GB of hard drive space is quite a bit of real estate, so if your hard drive is cramped now, you might want to start deciding what you want to delete. Or, buy an external hard drive on the cheap to store stuff that you want to keep but don't use all that often.

"Total War: Rome 2" will be released on September 3. Pre-orders are currrently being accepted.
