In the latest turn of events involving the upcoming January transfer window, Merseyside club Everton has been linked to Italy and Juventus striking legend Alessandro Del Piero, who is expected to leave Juventus free of charge.

Everton, however, are not alone in the hunt as new reports suggest that North London club Tottenham have also joined to land the player in White Hart Lane, after Del Piero's current club Juventus announced that the player is free to leave.

Everton boss David Moyes, however, is said to be preparing a move that will see the Italian superstar move to England for the first time in January. Everything, eventually, will depend on the amount of money Moyes will be provided to conduct the negotiations and how Everton fares in the Premiership this season until January.

The Toffees are sitting one place above the relegation zone in the league currently, according to an Eatsleepsport.com report.

Del Piero joined Juventus in 1993 from Padova and made his Serie A debut against Foggia in Sept. 1993. He scored in his very next game against Reggiana after coming on as a substitute. He scored a hat-trick against Parma on his first start.

He is Italy's fourth all-time leading goal scorer since his debut at the Euro '96. He has made 497 appearances for Juventus and has managed to net 205 goals.
