Uganda has banned 38 nongovernmental organizations for promoting homosexuality and recruiting children.

I have established beyond reasonable doubt that the 38 NGOs, if not even more, exist not for humanitarian reasons but to destroy the traditions and culture of this country by promoting homosexuality, stated Uganda's ethics and integrity minister, Simon Lokodo.

They are encouraging homosexuality as if it is the best form of sexual behavior.

Homosexuality is illegal in Uganda, and the government is currently reviewing a bill that will outlaw providing financial support to gays and lesbians, as well as increase the maximum sentence for homosexual activities to life in prison. In the city of Kampala on Monday, police broke up a human rights conference attended by some gay rights activists, arresting 15 for illegal assembly.
