Sony and Naughty Dog have released a story trailer for the upcoming “Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.” The trailer collects some of the highlights from the three critically acclaimed PlayStation 3 games that have been graphically enhanced for Sony’s current-gen console, with a major focus on the relationship between Nathan Drake and his mentor Sully.
Fans found out how Nathan and Sully met during the events of “Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.” The events in that game seem to be the main focus of the trailer, showing how the bond between the two has grown into something stronger over the events of the three games, mirroring a relationship between a father and a son.
The trailer was revealed on the PlayStation Blog, where a number of new features were also introduced for the collection. Each game in the collection will have three new modes to choose from: Explorer, Speed Run and Brutal Difficulty.
Explorer is a mode for beginners where combat difficulty has been reduced greatly, while Speed Run allows players to track their time and try to beat the scores of their friends. Brutal Difficulty is for veterans and is now the hardest difficulty setting. It is unlocked after finishing Crushing mode, which used to be the most difficult mode in the “Uncharted” games.
Gematsu also revealed that players would be able to use 65 multiplayer skins in any of the three games' single-player mode, all of which will be unlocked immediately. Players, who have always wanted to play as Doughnut Drake, can finally do so, along with any other skin in the “Nathan Drake Collection.”
Those, who purchase this “Uncharted” collection, will also gain exclusive access to the “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” multiplayer beta. For now, this seems to be the only option for players to try out the next game’s multiplayer mode.
“Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection” will be released on Oct. 9 for the PlayStation 4. “Uncharted 4” will be released sometime in 2016 and might be the final game in the series, though Naughty Dog has yet to confirm that piece of information.
