“Uncharted 4” is the most awaited title for the PS4 to date. But fans of the “Uncharted” franchise have a lot to look forward to with the “Nathan Drake Collection.”

The remastered versions of the PS3 classic games, developed by studio Bluepoint, are all laid out in 1080p resolutions. According to the PlayStation Blog, the developer targeted improvements in the area of character models, special effects and textures, making use of the hardware’s power while staying true to the vibe of the “Uncharted” series.

As for the actual “Uncharted 4,” developed Naughty Dog has announced that there will be real-time cutscenes, thanks to the PS4’s hardware. This was revealed in the new series, Conversations with Creators with Wil Wheaton, as seen below.

The big reveal is the inclusion of real-time cutscenes. What this means is that there won’t be black bars between the gameplay and the cutscenes, allowing for more fluid storytelling. Naughty Dog promised that this would take the experience on a new level, considering that the storytelling experience in “Uncharted” was very fluid even before. It also promises that the level of detail character-wise that players experience in the cutscenes will also be present in the gameplay.

“That super great-looking Nathan Drake that’s in the cutscenes — that’s going to be the guy you have the whole time. All of the emotion you get across in the cutscenes, you’ll have in gameplay all the time,” said Naughty Dog’s Anthony Newman.

A similar attention to and amount of detail in the gameplay was recently showcased in the gunfight and jeep chase gameplay scene for “Uncharted 4.” Many fans have commented that the video looked like one entire cutscene, as the detail and fluidity appears to be of far better quality than most gameplay scenes offer.

The attention to detail extends even to Nathan’s jeep, which will be more than just a vehicle in “Uncharted 4,” according to the developer. GamesRadar reports that the players can make use of the jeep in areas that can be traversed via foot. Plus, the player can have a degree of control when manipulating the jeep. But Naughty Dog has also taken measures so that the jeep’s presence will not be constant throughout the game.

“Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” is a PS4 exclusive title. While no release date has been pinpointed yet, it is expected to launch during the first half of next year.
