UPDATE 5:26 p.m. EST: The lockdown has been lifted for the entire UNH campus.

UPDATE 3:48 p.m. EST: The lockdown at the University of New Haven has been partially lifted. From the school's Facebook page:

"North Campus and South Campus lockdowns have been lifted. Main Campus is still under lockdown. Shelter-in-place on Main Campus is still in effect. Thank you for your cooperation."

UPDATE 3:14 p.m. EST: Police have recovered weapons during their search of the UNH campus, according to the school.

"Police are currently conducting a building by building search of the UNH campus. One suspect is in custody and weapons have been recovered. There is no indication of additional suspects at this time. Police are conducting these searches to ensure all areas are safe," the university wrote on its Facebook page. "For everyone's safety, shelter-in-place remains in effect due to a large police presence on campus. Your cooperation with this order is important to ensure your safety."

A suspect is in custody Tuesday following reports of a man with a gun on the campus of the University of New Haven in Connecticut.

The University of New Haven’s Twitter account instructed students to shelter in place even though the suspect has been apprehended:

Citing the New Haven Police Department, the Connecticut university said police reported an Asian male near the South Campus holding what appeared to be a rifle.
