Vampire Weekend and Steve Buscemi are teaming up for a special concert in New York at Roseland Ballroom for the American Express Unstaged music series on April 28. The concert will be live streamed for online viewers at 9 p.m. EDT to watch Vampire Weekend perform new songs off their new album, "Modern Vampires of the City," which will be released on May 14. Buscemi will direct the live stream broadcast.

Vampire Weekend and Buscemi have collaborated before. The video series leading up to the Roseland Ballroom concert includes footage of the acclaimed actor and band bowling, meeting with politicians (including New York City mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio), among other activities, including a scene in which Buscemi ties to give advice, rather awkwardly, to the band.

The AmEx Unstaged series specializes in bringing together unique talents from the film and music worlds for unique live streamed concerts that are instantly available to fans around the world. Previous collaborations include Jack White and Gary Oldman; The Killers and Werner Herzog; Coldplay and Anton Corbjin; and Usher and Hamish Hamilton. The Buscemi and Vampire Weekend collaboration will kick off the fourth season of the music series.

Buscemi, who stars in HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" and was a supporting actor in Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs," has had a prolific career behind the camera -- not just in front of it. He directed the feature "Trees Lounge" and episodes of "The Sopranos" and "30 Rock."

Vampire Weekend hit it big in 2008 with their self-titled debut that combined hyper-literate lyrics with a touch of Paul Simon-era "Graceland" rhythms. On their sophomore album, "Contra," the band continued to expand their sound, adding more dance floor-ready songs while continuing to experiment with many different influences and sounds.

"We are thrilled to be working with Steve Buscemi, a wonderful actor, a NYC legend and a great director," Vampire Weekend lead singer Ezra Koenig said. "We couldn't have picked a better guy to man the cameras for our April 28th event."

Vampire Weekend's AmEx Unstaged concert at Roseland Ballroom will be live streamed during the final day of the Tribeca Film Festival. View the live stream beginning on April 28 at 9 p.m. EDT here.
