Verizon Galaxy Nexus rumors and puzzling Best Buy ads have left fans in the U.S. confused and frustrated over the phone's release date, but Computer World claims to have finally found a credible source who has leaked that pre-orders for the phone will start on Tuesday.

The Galaxy Nexus has been the most talked about phone since the iPhone 4S, but Verizon, the phone's carrier in the U.S., has kept silent about the phone's launch, even after it was released in Europe last week.

A leaked email, published by thered99.com, revealed a Verizon launch date of Dec.8, but after the phone appeared in a Best Buy ad dubbed, Galaxy Nexus (Prime), Samsung fans braced for a Nov.27 release (that never happened). The phone is still listed on the Best Buy ad priced $299.99, but there is no way of purchasing the phone.

Mike Peak, a source who told Computer World he has spoken to Verizon staff, says the phone will be up for pre-orders on Nov.29. In his account published on Computer World's blog he claims to have called Verizon to complain about the handling of the Galaxy Nexus launch when he was told that there was not long to go and pre-orders would start on Tues following by the phone's official U.S. release on Dec.8.

Richi Jennings, a blogger for Computer World, believes the delay could be down to the in-call volume bug that was detected after the phone was released in Europe. Verizon doesn't want to knife the baby of other phone sales during what is probably the heaviest few days of retail sales in the entire year, Jennings writes.

The Nexus Prime is the first phone to support the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, which was designed to bridge the gap between Android 2.x and the 3.0 honeycombs. The latest Samsung phone comes with a dual core 1.2 GHz Texas Instruments OMAp4460 processor.

It comes with AMOLED 4.65 inch screen with a 720p resolution. It's 8.94mm thinness gives the phone a sleek finish and weighing only 135g. Despite being so slender and light the phone comes with a 16.30 GB storage and 1GB RAM giving it twice the memory of the iPhone 4S.

Nexus Prime is a let down. On the bright side, things that seem tobe missing from prior Android phones still aren't present in theiPhone.
