LeBron James has been treated like a phenom even before he was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, but there are times when even one of the world’s best athletes can still inspire awe in fans.

During a shoot around Saturday morning at the American Airlines Arena, the Miami Heat and NBA MVP knocked down a half-court shot as if it was free throw.

Based off the Vine video originally posted by @Jim_Ice on Twitter, James simply plants his feet and launches without any strain and swishes.

The 28-year-old has greatly improved his outside shot this season, especially from three, and this could be the reason why. James reached career-highs of 56.5 percent from the field and 40.6 percent from beyond the arc this season.

The Heat are currently down a game in the best-of-seven NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs with Game Two scheduled for Sunday.

James extended his fourth MVP run into the playoffs with 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists in 17 games, but the rest of his squad, namely Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, have slipped significantly and the Heat run the risk of falling behind 2-0 with the series heading to San Antonio next week.

Wade and Bosh are not seen in the video. Some extra reps may help in Game Two.
