Manchester City held off Tottenham in a wild match that produced five second-half goals at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, 3-2.

The match was marked by Mario Balotelli avoiding a late red card, but eventually scoring the game winner off a penalty kick in stoppage time.

Samir Nasri go the scoring started in the 56th minute off an excellent assist from winger David Silva. City would extend their lead three minutes later off a corner kick, as Joleon Lescott was able to knock the ball in past Brad Friedel.

But Tottenham would come right back by scoring on the following possession. Forward Jermain Defore scored in the 60th minute off a defensive error by City.

Five minutes later, Tottenham star midfielder Gareth Bale levelled the match with a fantastic shot.

The score would remain 2-2 until the dying moments of the match. Tottenham defender Ledley King fouled Balotelli in the penalty box, and the contentious forward was able to drill home the game winner for the home side just moments before the final whistle.

Tottenham took 14 shots with three on goal, while Manchester City took 16 shots with four on goal. City had possession for 53 percent of the match.
