Looking good, Lagertha!

Recently, Katheryn Winnick, who portrays the fierce shield maiden on History Channel’s “Vikings,” shared a behind-the-scenes video of her transforming into the seriously stylish Earl of Hedeby.

“Sneak peek of my day,” Winnick captioned the Intagram video of herself getting beautified in hair and makeup. “#behindthescenes #vikings.” The video gave audiences a quick glimpse at Lagertha’s Season 4B look, which included tightly woven braids and a leather-like crown that was accessorized with pieces of metal.

This isn’t the first photo Winnick has shared of her whimsical locks. In July, the actress posted a photo of her hairstylist perfecting her regal look. The image allowed fans of the historical series to see the amount of effort that goes in to creating these epic and intricate styles.

“Vikings” stylist Dee Corcoran dished to International Business Times in April that audiences could expect Lagertha to undergo a major transformation when the Michael Hirst created series returns to the small screen. “This season you’ll see [Lagertha] with little pieces of Celtic metal [in her hair] when she’s going to battle, which looks fabulous on her,” Corcoran teased just what fans can expect when second half of Season 4 airs.

The video that Winnick shared to her Instagram account also gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the ladies of Kattegat preparing to film a scene from Season 4B of “Vikings.” Excitedly, Winnick, Georgia Hirst (who portrays Torvi) and another shield maiden gleefully skipped to the set of “Vikings.”

Although “Vikings” has not yet received a midseason premiere date for Season 4 of the blood-drenched drama, fans can anticipate for their favorite Northman to return to the small screen in the fall.
