Volkswagen of America is voluntarily recalling 13,500 vehicles to fix a problem with a dual-clutch transmission, the company said Thursday.

The Volkswagen recall affects its 2009 and a few 2010 models. The models covered are the Jetta, Jetta Sport Wagen, GTI and Eos, all of them built between September 2008 and August 2009.

The automaker said that the problem would cause the temperature sensor to light on in the dashboard and also in rare instances; the transmission may shift to neutral.
