Did “Walking Dead” star Norman Redus just reveal that his character Daryl survived the Season 6 finale? That’s what fans of the AMC series are speculating after the 47–year-old actor posted a new Instagram photo earlier this week.

Reedus is a frequent Instagram user, but he doesn’t always share photos from the set of “The Walking Dead.” That’s why a post from Wednesday has fans talking. The image, seen below, features Reedus in character as Daryl with his arm wrapped around Melissa McBride, who portrays Carol. The two have shovels behind them and are sitting in front of an open grave.

“If that’s a season seven filming pic then we know who didn’t die in the finale,” one follower commented.

“Oh no, who died,” another Instagram user asked.

Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like this photo is any indication of who survives the Season 6 finale. In fact, it looks as if the shot was taken during filming for episode 14 of Season 6, titled “Twice As Far.” The episode featured Denise’s (Merritt Wever) death at the hands of Dwight (Austin Amelio). Daryl took her death really hard, and it resulted in him later getting captured by the Saviors. A clip from the installment shows Carol wearing the same outfit from the photo, although Daryl’s wearing more layers.

Behind-the-scenes images from Season 7 are likely to be far and few between due to the finale cliffhanger. The final episode from Season 6 introduced comic book villain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), the leader of the Saviors. Because Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew killed so many of Negan’s men, Negan retaliated by choosing one of his captors to slay with his beloved weapon of choice, a bat named Lucille. Rick, Daryl, Carl (Chandler Riggs), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), Rosita (Christian Serratos), Aaron (Ross Marquand), Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) were all lined up for execution, but the cameras didn’t reveal who Negan beat to death with Lucille.

“The Walking Dead” Season 7 premieres on AMC this fall.
