Stocks were slightly lower at the open on Thursday as better-than-expected earnings from JPMorgan Chase & Co were offset by worries over sluggish growth as producer prices fell for a third straight month.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 19.30 points, or 0.19 percent, to 10,347.42. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 1.54 points, or 0.14 percent, to 1,093.63. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> lost 3.99 points, or 0.18 percent, to 2,245.85.
