An unidentified Chicago White Sox employee of the month threw out the first pitch on Tuesday prior to the White Sox and Kansas City Royals game. After the video of the pitch went viral, it is now being dubbed as one of the "worst first pitch ever" at a professional baseball game.

As reported by The New York Post, the woman could not hide her embarrassment after she knocked a cameraman, who was to her far left, with the ball at Chicago's Guaranteed Rate Field. She covered her face with both hands and even White Sox pitcher Evan Marshall, her intended catcher, reacted, putting his hands over his head. However, he then consoled her, wrapping his left arm around her.

The cameraman, Darren Georgia, later told Chicago NBC that he and his camera are fine.

This is not the first time a first pitch has gone awry. Five years ago, rapper 50 Cent caused Twitter to erupt after throwing what was deemed one of the worst ceremonial pitches ever. The event took place at the opening Mets versus Pirates game in 2014 in New York. When the performer threw the ball, it also way to the left, which led to memes and gifs about the blunder.
