Rapper Yung Joc was roasted the moment he showed off his new hairdo on social media Thursday, but there’s a reason why he changed his hair: It’s for a movie role. Yung Joc knew he was going to get called out for his shocking change and took to Instagram to explain himself.

“BIG Screen flow,” he captioned his explanation video Friday. “I know y’all gonna hit me with all the Shade in the Room and that’s totally fine because I know how Blessed I am........ Never been scared to be the Center of attention without trying.” The post garnered nearly 25,000 views from his 289,000 followers after being online for six hours.

Inside the black-and-white video he added a little more information. “See, it's cool to be a follower, I guess,” the rapper mused. “All y'all wanna look alike. But what if I just chose to do something different because I knew yo mother------ a-- was gonna talk about it? I won.”

Even if it’s for a movie role, hundreds of people couldn’t help but poke fun at the “It’s Going Down” rapper’s permed-out hairdo. Even if he is the butt of everyone’s joke, Yung Joc said in an Instagram video with “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Stevie J that he is up to “player s---.”

He was definitely right about people talking about his hair, though. His name was a top-trending Twitter topic Friday morning, garnering nearly 25,000 tweets at the time this article was written.

The Instagram page for The Shade Room was one of the first places to drag Joc. “#YungJoc's blowout game strong #TSRHairDosAndDonts,” they wrote to their 6.1 million followers.

One of the popular things for people to write in the comment section was the Yung Joc “looked like someone’s aunite.” Other people simply shared memes. Some of the funniest ones have been posted below. Check them out:
