First lady Melania Trump joined her husband President Donald Trump on Monday in welcoming Panama’s President Juan Carlos Varela and his wife Lorena Castilla, upon their arrival at the South Portico of the White House.

The first lady wore a Carolina blue fitted dress designed by Michael Kors, priced at $1,695, reports said. Melania gracefully donned the knee-length dress that featured a high neckline and was adorned with three buttons on each side.

The dress also comes in black, according to the Michael Kors website. Both the colors are nearly sold out except in sizes 10, 8 and 0. “A study in sophistication, the sheath dress is a wardrobe essential. This version is expertly tailored to flatter the figure in stretch bouclé-crepe. A crew neckline, accompanying belt and buttoned details complete this forever style with a flattering effect,” reads the description of the dress on the Michael Kors website.

Melania paired the dress with her signature pumps, this time a pair of floral Christian Louboutin heels. The 47-year-old wore minimal jewelry aside from her massive diamond engagement ring. She also let her golden brown hair down around her shoulders like she does during most appearances.

Panama’s first lady donned a knee-length green dress featuring a lace peplum design and lace sleeves. She paired the dress with nude platform pumps. The two first ladies were photographed outside the Oval Office during the visit.

Melania, a former model, has been making fashion statements for years; however, after becoming the first lady she has been in the headlines more often. The baby blue coat dress that Melania wore at the president’s inauguration ceremony on Jan. 20 was considered to be a perfect outfit for such an occasion. She was compared to former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy, in a story published by CNN in January.

She was spotted in olive green skinny jeans paired with a white button-down top Sunday while returning from Camp David, where the first family celebrated Father’s Day.

Melania and her son Barron Trump moved to the White House on June 11, five months after her husband took office as the U.S. commander-in-chief. She showed her excitement about moving to the White House in a tweet posted from her official @FLOTUS account.

"Things are going well in Panama"

Trump met Panama’s president Monday to discuss how to curb transnational organized crime, illegal migration, and illicit substances, CNBC reported. They also discussed the continued political and economic instability in Venezuela.

Trump welcomed the president of Panama to the White House, and during the first face-to-face meeting with the Central American leader, spoke about the United States' role in the construction of the Panama Canal.

“The Panama Canal is doing quite well. I think we did a good job building it, right?” Trump told Varela, who responded by saying, “very good job.”

Trump added: “Things are going well in Panama. The relationship is very strong.”
