We have all been waiting and wondering for a long time as to who Ted Mosby's Slutty Pumpkin on How I Met Your Mother is.

The suspense is over with CBS announcing the name of Katie Holmes.

In the very first season of the series, Ted meets a girl in a Halloween party obviously in disguise, wearing a pumpkin costume.

Though Ted and the Pumpkin girl exchange numbers, he loses her contact number when Lily accidentally tossed her phone number. Ted goes to the party every year since then hoping to find the girl, but in vain, until an upcoming special Halloween episode in the seventh season.

Katie is a lovely and talented actress, which is why we've saved for her perhaps the most classily named character in our show's history, said creator Craig Thomas, speaking of Katie's cast in the show to New York Magazine's Vulture.

The audience has been eagerly waiting for six seasons to know the character, and after the name has been revealed, the wait seems worth it.
