Summer is quickly coming to an end, which means some of the most popular shows on television will return with new episodes, with one of the most popular ones being “Saturday Night Live.” Gracing the small screen for its 43rd season, there are several facts known about what will happen when the series returns, though there some things that still remain a mystery.

For starters, “Saturday Night Live” Season 43 has yet to receive a premiere date. The series typically premieres in late September or early October, but a specific date has yet to be confirmed by NBC.

However, it is clear that the show is gearing up to return to television sooner rather than later. They kicked off their ticket lottery on Aug. 1, and this will run until Aug. 31. During this time, fans can email ticket requests.

In the email, the individual must include why they would like to be a part of the studio audience. If selected, the person will receive two tickets to a random show date and time. Ticket requests must be made by someone who is at least 16 years old.

Although a date for the series has not been set just yet, “Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update” will have a four episode run and will air starting Aug. 10 at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC. The segment, which runs during “SNL” and is typically only a few minutes, will air for a half hour.

“Weekend Update’ comments on and satirizes the news and current affairs of the week.” Colin Jost and Michael Che will act as anchors on the show. Throughout its run, several “SNL” cast members will make an appearance on the series. However, don’t expect Vanessa Bayer, Bobby Moynihan or Sasheer Zamata to be featured on any of the episodes.

Moynihan announced his departure ahead of Season 42 when his series “Me Myself & I” was picked up by CBS.

Shortyl after his announcement, Bayer announced that she would be leaving the show via Instagram. That same month, sources told Entertainment Tonight that Zamata would not be returning to the show for Season 43.

During an August interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bayer explained why she decided to exit the successful series. “It felt like it was time for me. I had seven seasons and just felt like it was time for someone else to do that job,” she explained.

Someone who is coming back to the series once again though is Alec Baldwin. The actor told CNN he will be returning to the show to portray President Trump. “Yeah, we’re going to fit that in. I think people have enjoyed it,” he said last month.

In March, Baldwin hinted that his time impersonating Trump was coming to an end. “The maliciousness of this White House has people very worried,” he said during an interview with Extra.

“That’s why I’m not going to do it much longer, the impersonation. I don’t [know] how much more people can take it,” he explained.

Although Baldwin will portray Trump once again, the actor revealed that viewers will not see the character as often as they did last season due to his busy fall schedule. The star told CNN that this time around, the audience will get “a couple celery sticks” rather than a “whole meal” when it comes to his portrayal of Trump.

For now, fans of the long running series will have to remain alert until NBC finally announces the premiere date of “Saturday Night Live” Season 43.
