“Arrow” has not seen a certain archer in quite some time. Colton Haynes played Roy Harper, also known as Arsenal, on the CW drama, but he left in Season 3. However, he has set his official return for 2018.

Roy will return to “Arrow” in Season 6, episode 15. If “Arrow” doesn’t have any reruns after it comes back from holiday break on Jan. 18, then Haynes’ first episode back should air on Feb. 22.

The CW called Haynes’ return a “short visit,” but they did not reveal how many episodes he would be around for. It would be difficult for “Arrow” to bring the scarlet archer back to Star City for long. After all, Roy is supposed to be dead.

He had to fake his death in order to escape prison. Roy pretended he was the Green Arrow to take the attention off of Oliver. He had to leave his love Thea (Willa Holland) behind as he went into hiding. It sounds like their reunion will have plenty of sparks.

“We’re thrilled to announce that Colton Haynes will be reprising his role as Roy Harper for a short arc on ‘Arrow’ this year,” said executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle (via Deadline). “Roy is called back to Star City to help resolve an urgent matter with high stakes for the team. His short visit turns into something surprising when he reunites with Thea and sparks a change in both of their lives that will have long-lasting consequences…”

The news isn’t exactly a surprise. Haynes, who also returned to “Teen Wolf” earlier this year, told his Twitter followers in September that his return would be coming soon. Star Stephen Amell posted a photo on Facebook Monday that seemed to show Oliver and Roy in a scene. “Boy oh boy do I love Colton!!!” he wrote in the caption. In his Instagram story on Saturday, Amell also surprised his co-star with a video call that made it clear they were in Vancouver and planning to see each other.

Haynes, meanwhile, was happy to let fans know that he was finally in Canada filming the CW superhero show.

Fans are likely relieved to see that Haynes is actually returning. There have been plenty of rumors about Arsenal’s comeback before. Haynes reportedly claimed at a fan convention he’d be in a few episodes of Season 5, but that never happened. Photos of the actor with “Arrow” cast members last year also led to rumors of Roy’s return.

“Arrow” audiences will be happy to know that this return is official and confirmed.

“Arrow” Season 6 returns to The CW on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
