Roy Harper isn’t returning to Star City just yet. Though actor Colton Haynes was recently spotted with several “Arrow” cast members in Vancouver, it seems he wasn’t there to film Season 5 of the CW superhero drama.

“Arrow” executive producer Wendy Mericle said that there aren’t any plans for the former “Teen Wolf” star to return. However, it’s an idea she is very open to. “We would have Roy back in a heartbeat,” Mericle told TVLine. “If the right circumstances come up and the right storyline presents itself, absolutely.”

As previously reported, many fans assumed he was returning when he was pictured with Emily Bett Rickards and Echo Kellum, who play Felicity and Curtis. He even appeared to be in a trailer, but it looks like he was just visiting friends.

It’s still surprising to hear that there aren’t concrete plans for Roy to return. After Thea (Willa Holland) decided to put down her red bow, it seemed like a great time for Arsenal to rejoin the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell). Plus, Haynes previously said he was set to come back.

“I get to come back on a few episodes of ‘Arrow’ next year,” the actor said at France’s Justice Squad Convention in May (via Screen Crush). It seems plans have changed.

The actor initially left “Arrow” in Season 3 while dealing with extreme anxiety. However, the 28-year-old is ready to be back in the spotlight. He is currently filming a guest-starring role on Fox’s “Scream Queens.” Haynes revealed on Instagram that he is enjoying being on a new set.

“I am having such an amazing time on this show with ppl who are too talented for their own good!!!” he captioned a photo of himself with several cast members. “Jamie [Lee Curtis] is one of the sweetest people I've ever met & has embraced me like I'm her own son.”

Hopefully, the comedy will allow him to go back to “Arrow” later this year. Until then, fans will have to hope Oliver’s new team of amateur vigilantes works out.

“Arrow” Season 5 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
