‘Blindspot’
Jaimie Alexander's Jane Doe will return to “Blindspot” Season 2, episode 19 on April 26 at 8 p.m. EST. NBC

“Blindspot” Season 2 did not air a new episode on Wednesday, April 12.

According to TV Guide, the hit NBC series is on a two-week hiatus and will return with episode 19, titled “Regard a Mere Mad Rager,” later this month. As of late, it is still unclear why the network decided to give the Jaimie Alexander-starrer a short break, but there are speculations that this has something to do with their schedule. After next week’s episode, “Blindspot” Season 2 will have three more episodes before its highly-anticipated finale.

By the end of the month, NBC should have already made a decision regarding whether or not “Blindspot” will be renewed for a third season. According to TV Line, mid-May is a very crucial time for networks because this is when they have to make tough calls with regards to certain shows. Unfortunately, “Blindspot” is in danger of being axed because it hasn’t been faring well in terms of ratings.

The massive change in viewership came as a surprise because “Blindspot” was such a hit during its first season. In fact, NBC immediately renewed the series for another run after releasing just a few episodes.

In November 2015, NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke released a statement (via Variety) expressing her excitement over the series’ early renewal. “We are over the moon with the success of ‘Blindspot,’ and want to thank our producers and amazing cast for creating one of the most riveting shows on television. Jaimie and Sullivan have done an amazing job of ratcheting up the tension each week in trying to unravel the mystery of Jane’s tattoos. We literally can’t wait to see what the second season will bring,” she said at the time.

“Blindspot” Season 2, episode 19 will air on NBC on April 26 at 8 p.m. EST.
