Xur This Week
Xur and his Exotic Items are back, but act fast! Bungie

Xur has returned in "Destiny," as if many gamers — especially those on the East Coast — needed more reason to stay indoors on what's expected to be a snowy weekend. The shadowy Agent of the Nine has replenished his inventory to offer more helmets, gauntlets and engrams that may be worth some Strange Coin. Xur has established a nice routine for himself, or herself, with only limited operating hours. The merchant began accepting customers at 5 a.m. EST Friday, but act fast as Xur will be gone at 5 a.m. EST Sunday.

Xur is back at the Tower this week, just past the main corridor. Much like last week, the merchant does not have a weapon for sale this week in "Destiny." There is an Exotic Engram and a Legacy Engram up for grabs, if you want to spend a few Strange Coin.

Xur Items for Sale

  • Leg Armor: Mk. 44 Stand Asides (Titan)
  • Gauntlets: Sealed Ahamkara Grasps (Hunter)
  • Helmet: The Ram (Warlock)
  • Exotic Body Armor Engram
  • Legacy Gauntlet Engram
  • Glass Needles
  • Three of Coins

This week is a mixed bag for Xur, but some players may want to pick up The Ram helmet or the Mk. 44 Stand Asides based on their playing style.

Looking ahead, Bungie announced the start of two new events. Iron Banner returns January 26 with a great game of Rift. All players need to do is grab the Spark and destroy the opponent's Rift. Players can earn a Scout Rifle, Fusion Rifle or unique class items. For PlayStation 4 players, there will be exclusive themed armor.

"Destiny" and Valentine's Day may not seem like a logical pairing, but Bungie hopes players will fall in love with Crimson Days beginning February 9. "We’re delivering a brand new 2v2 Crucible mode we’re calling Crimson Doubles. It features a special twist, born of new gameplay and mechanics that only battle-tested star-crossed lovers will appreciate. You’ll need a dancing partner – preferably one that compliments your fighting style," Bungie explained.
