‘Riverdale’
What will happen to FP (Skeet Ulrich) when he finds out that Jughead (Cole Sprouse) has decided to join the Southside Serpents in “Riverdale” Season 2? The CW

“Riverdale” fans will see more of Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) dad, FP (Skeet Ulrich), in the upcoming episodes of Season 2.

According to TV Line, Ulrich just got promoted from recurring guest star to regular cast member status. Executive producer Sarah Schecter released a statement to Deadline expressing their excitement over Ulrich’s promotion. “We so loved having Skeet on ‘Riverdale’ last year, that we couldn’t imagine ‘Riverdale’ without him. He’s a stellar actor and we feel we have just scratched the surface of who FP is. We are excited to have Skeet continue on this journey and we can’t wait for the audience to see what he is up to this year,” she said.

In Season 1, Ulrich’s FP was featured in seven of the 13 episodes. In the beginning of the series, FP was depicted as a damaged member of the Southside Serpents. He was a drunkard who did not seem to care about his own son. However, he proved his love for Jughead when he decided to protect him from Jason Blossom’s (Trevor Stines) father, Clifford (Barclay Hope).

Meanwhile, Ulrich is the second cast member to be promoted to series regular. Earlier this month, TV Line reported that Casey Cott, who plays the role of Betty Cooper’s (Lili Reinhart) gay best friend, Kevin Keller, will have more screentime in the series as well.

In “Riverdale” Season 1, Kevin was revealed to be related to Sheriff Keller (Martin Cummins). The latter was connected to the investigation of Jason’s demise. By the looks of it, Sheriff Keller will also go in search of the man who shot Fred (Luke Perry) in the finale. Additionally, Kevin had a relationship with a Southside Serpent member named Joaquin (Rob Raco). The two decided to go their separate ways, fearing that they will be linked to Jason’s murder.

In other news, The CW announced the renewal for “Riverdale” Season 2 in March. “Pitch” actor Mark Consuelos will also be joining the series as Hiram Lodge, Veronica Lodge’s (Camila Mendes) father.

On the other hand, Ross Butler won’t be back as Reggie Mantle. The role has been given to Charles Melton.
