Lovebirds John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have finally tied the knot! The Grammy Award-winning singer wed the model in a ceremony in Lake Como, Italy, on Saturday, sources confirmed to Us Weekly. The pair had been engaged for two years, so it was quite the sweet note to close out their summer.

Most people know 27-year-old Teigen from her numerous appearances as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. But there is definitely more to the lovely lady than her ability to rock a bathing suit and offer a captivating pose while fighting the elements. 1. She Was Raised In Seattle

The daughter of a Thai mother and a Norwegian father, Teigen was born in Delta, Utah. She was raised in Seattle, until she relocated to California during her high-school years, Ocean Drive reported.

2. She’s A Successful Model

After being discovered while working in a surf shop, Teigen turned the happenstance opportunity into a budding career. She is best known for her work as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. But she has also been the face of campaigns for the Gillette Venus & Olay Razor and Skullcandy headphones.

3. She’s A Foodie

A huge fan of cooking, Teigen told Marie Claire she launched her food blog So Delushious as a place she could release stress and share her love for good food. “I always loved food, and I think I kind of needed an outlet. I didn’t want to just talk about modeling all the time and just be in the modeling realm,” she said. “I just kind of needed somewhere to just talk. I feel like my blog is a place where it is so positive and it feels like a real community. I will rant about ‘What am I doing with my life? I don’t know what to do’ and then I’ll turn that into hamburgers. ”

4. Her Besties Are Gorgeous, Too

Teigen is really great friends with both actress-model Brooklyn Decker and sports journalist Erin Andrews. Decker even served as the maid of honor at Teigen’s wedding.

5. She Isn’t Afraid Of #TeamBreezy

After Teigen took to Twitter to criticize Chris Brown for lip-synching during his 2012 Billboard Music Awards performance, she was attacked by hundreds of Brown’s fans with hateful, malicious messages. Unshaken by the negativity, though, Teigen hit back with a lengthy response, calling the actions of the fans disturbing and over the top. She then called a collective end to the discussion with one exceptionally blunt tweet: “This is less about chris and more about the insanity that spews out of the rabid mouthes of team breezy. done. there will be no more said.” One tough lady, indeed.

The lovely couple has been together since 2007. They recently made a steamy appearance in Legend’s music video for the track “All of Me” off his fourth studio album, “Love in the Future,” as noted by the New York Daily News.

8. And They Were Engaged In 2011

Legend and Teigen got engaged in December 2011. To get friends and family to give them a little peace, she told the Daily News that the two decided to make their relationship just a little more official with their engagement. “We were sick of people saying -- ‘When are you getting engaged?’ -- so we did,” she said last February. “And now everyone’s asking when we’re getting married.” She added that Legend had until the end of the year to finally marry her or else: “If it’s not this year, I’m out.” Luckily for Legend, he no longer has to worry about how truthful that threat was.

Although she’s made quite the career for herself as a model, the profession wasn’t initially in her plans, she told Marie Claire. “Basically, I was really modeling for fun, but it wasn’t ever something that I wanted to do to begin with,” Teigen said.
