Donald Trump Jr. is bogged down in an email scandal after he took a meeting at the Kremlin last year. He released emails Tuesday that show he knew the meeting was part of a coordinated effort by the Russian government to help his father, President Donald Trump, in the 2016 election against Hillary Clinton. As the heat turns up, it is might affect Trump Jr.'s wife Vanessa Trump, née Haydon.

Haydon is a former model and designer. The two were married in November 2005 when they were both 27. The wedding took place Mar-a-Lago, President Trump’s resort, which he has called the “Winter White House” since his election.

The couple has five children together Kai, Donald Trump III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe. They were introduced by the president at a fashion show in 2003, according to a 2006 New York Times article. The older Trump introduced his son to Haydon twice by mistake.

“Donald comes back up to me again, 'I don't think you've met my son Donald Trump Jr.,’” Hayden told the Times. “Yeah, we just met, five minutes ago.”

The two met for a third time at a birthday party where they spoke for over an hour before remembering they had already met before.

“(You’re) the one with the retarded dad!” Hayden recalled blurting out.

Hayden grew up in New York City’s Upper East Side and began modeling as a child. She was signed to the Wilhelmina agency. Modeling runs in her family, her mother Bonnie Haydon once ran Kay Models agency.

Haydon attended an elite private school, the Dwight School in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, where she was a tennis standout.

“ In her yearbook, Haydon was voted Most Likely to Wind Up on Ricki Lake,” reported New York Magazine in 1998.

In high school, Haydon had an edge according to a former schoolmate.

“Now she's all dolled up and ladylike and shit, but she used to be this hard-rock in leather and baggy jeans. She was a total gangster b----,” a high school friend told the magazine.

Haydon has appeared in several gossip columns over the years making it onto the New York Post’s Page 6 and into Star Magazine. Star also reported that she was once linked romantically to actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

“Leonardo DiCaprio has fallen hard for a stunning young model — and pals say this time it's love. The superstar is so smitten with blonde beauty Vanessa Haydon that he's now a one-woman man,” printed Star in 1998.

Haydon had her own acting career, mostly on the small screen in television commercials, but she also appeared in a small role in the film “Something’s Gotta Give,” in 2003. She was a celebrity judge in the 2004 Miss USA pageant.

Haydon started a now-defunct handbag line in 2010 called La Poshett and has been involved in charity work for a long time. She once worked for her brother-in-law’s charity, The Eric Trump Foundation. The foundation has since been shut down to avoid the appearance of any conflict of interest because of Donald Trump's presidency.
